Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only coach couples?
While couples coaching is a major part of what we do, we also coach individuals seeking guidance with personal growth, emotional clarity, relational decision-making, and relationship dynamics. This may include individuals navigating infidelity, life transitions, difficult relationship decisions, or patterns affecting how they communicate and connect.

What if my partner isn’t ready for coaching yet?
That’s okay. Many clients begin with individual coaching to gain clarity, strengthen communication, and better understand their relationship. One person’s growth can shift the relationship dynamic in meaningful ways.

How do the coaching sessions work?
Coaching sessions may be one, two, or three hours long, depending on your needs. We also offer longer coaching intensives and private coaching retreats. In-person coaching sessions take place in Franklin at our Cool Springs office, and virtual coaching sessions are available through a private video platform.

What’s the difference between a coaching intensive and a regular coaching session?
Intensives are longer, focused coaching sessions, usually half-day or full-day, designed to help couples or individuals work through challenges more deeply and efficiently than is often possible in a traditional hourly session. They are ideal for addressing complex issues, gaining focused support, or making meaningful progress in a concentrated format.

Are the coaching retreats private or group-based?
All of our coaching retreats are private. You are the only couple we see during your scheduled coaching retreat, ensuring focused attention, privacy, and a customized experience.

How do I get started?
Start with a complimentary introductory session. We’ll talk through what you are facing, answer your questions, and begin identifying the coaching path that is right for you.

How many coaching sessions will we need?
It depends on your goals, situation, and the level of support needed. Some couples or individuals experience meaningful progress after a few coaching sessions, while others choose ongoing coaching or participate in intensives or private retreats. We’ll help you determine the best path during your introductory session.

Do you coach engaged or dating couples?
Yes. Premarital and pre-engagement coaching is one of our specialties. It is an ideal time to strengthen communication, set expectations, understand relational patterns, and build a stronger foundation for lasting connection.

What’s the difference between working with one of you or both of you?
Some clients prefer a one-on-one coaching approach with either Amanda or Michael. Others prefer the benefit of working with both of us together as a husband-and-wife coaching team. This provides a unique dynamic, dual perspective, and balanced support for couples navigating difficult relationship issues. We’re happy to help you choose the format that fits best.

Do you accept insurance?
No. Coaching is not a medical or clinical service, so insurance cannot be accepted.

Is coaching confidential?
Yes. Coaching conversations are private and handled with care, respect, discretion, and dignity.

How is coaching different from counseling or therapy?
Coaching is different from counseling or therapy. Our work is practical, forward-focused, and relationship-centered, with an emphasis of clarity, communication, decision-making, and next steps. We do not provide licensed medical care, psychotherapy, or mental-health treatment, and we do not diagnose, treat, or cure mental-health conditions. Clients needing mental-health treatment should work with a licensed mental healthcare provider.

What are the coaching prices?
Your introductory session is complimentary. Standard coaching sessions are $200 with Amanda or Michael, or $350 with Amanda and Michael together as a husband-and-wife coaching team. Half-day intensives are $800 with one coach or $1,400 with both coaches. Full-day intensives are $1,600 with one coach or $2,800 with both coaches. Private marriage coaching retreat pricing is customized based on length, location, and coaching format. Discounts are available for military members, veterans, and first responders.
