Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only work with couples?
No. While couples work is a major part of what we do, we also work with individuals seeking guidance on personal growth, emotional clarity, and relationship dynamics—including those recovering from infidelity, navigating life transitions, or seeking support in relational decision-making.
What if my partner isn’t willing to come?
That’s okay. Many clients begin with individual coaching to gain clarity, strengthen communication skills, and better understand their relationship. One person’s growth can shift the dynamic in powerful ways.
How do the sessions work?
Sessions may be one, two, or three hours long, depending on your needs. We also offer intensives and private retreats. Our in-person sessions take place in Franklin and Murfreesboro, and virtual sessions via a secure video platform.
What’s the difference between an intensive and a regular session?
Intensives are longer, focused sessions (half-day or full-day) designed to help couples or individuals work through challenges more deeply and efficiently than is often possible in traditional hour-long formats. They're ideal for addressing complex issues or accelerating progress.
Are the retreats private or group-based?
All of our retreats are private. You are the only couple we see during your scheduled retreat, ensuring focused attention, privacy, and a customized experience.
Is this coaching or therapy?
We bring a therapeutic background and professional experience to our work, but our approach is coaching-based—strategic, forward-focused, and highly personalized. We are not practicing as licensed therapists in this setting, and as such do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders.
Do you offer faith-based coaching?
While we are open to integrating your faith into the coaching process if requested, we do not impose any religious framework. Our approach is inclusive, respectful, and tailored to your personal values and beliefs.
How do I get started?
Start with a free consultation call. We’ll talk through your goals, answer your questions, and help determine the best next step for your unique situation.
How many sessions will we need?
It depends on your goals and situation. Some couples or individuals see meaningful progress after a few sessions; others choose ongoing work or participate in intensives and retreats. We’ll help you determine the best path during your consultation.
Do you work with engaged or dating couples?
Yes. Premarital and pre-engagement coaching is one of our specialties. It’s an ideal time to strengthen communication, set expectations, and build a solid foundation for lasting connection.
What’s the difference between working with one of you or both of you?
Some clients prefer a one-on-one approach with either Amanda or Michael. Others benefit from the unique dynamic and dual perspective of working with us as a husband-and-wife team. We’re happy to help you choose what fits best.
How much do sessions cost?
We offer a range of services with different pricing structures—including hourly rates, half- and full-day intensives, and multi-day retreats. You’ll find our current rates listed on our Menu of Services, and we’re happy to discuss options during your consultation.
Do you take insurance?
All of our clients are self-pay, which means you won’t have to go through any red tape to start working with us and won’t have your confidentiality intruded upon by an insurance company.
Is everything we share confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is deeply important to us. All sessions are held in strict confidence and with professionalism, whether in person or online.
We’ve tried counseling before—how is this different?
Many clients come to us after traditional therapy hasn’t brought the clarity or change they were seeking. Our coaching is immersive, practical, and relationship-focused—with an emphasis on tools, insight, and momentum. We move forward, not in circles.
